Get ready for a busy week of road work in Tangipahoa: PONCHATOULA—Motorists traveling near the intersection of North Hoover Road and Sisters Road will experience delays starting this week (June 5), as crews begin staging materials and equipment to begin the next phase of the roundabout project. Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said Beverly Construction has been selected to begin this phase of the project. They will begin moving into their site today (Monday, June 5). At that time, they will be receiving materials and staging them at the point where work will begin. “There will be a lot of movement of equipment, materials, and personnel during this process,” Miller said, noting that there will be brief intermediate lane closures during which crews will deliver materials to crews. “We ask motorists to be patient and use caution while traveling through this construction area, especially where crews are working in the area,” Miller said. In addition to the staging work for the Hoover Road/Sisters Road roundabout, crews will be preparing for a busy week of road work across the parish. The Phase 2023 overlay program calls for the following work to be started during the week of June 5: *Milling: Pine Street, Straughan Nursery Road, Nuccio Road, Mandella, Catfish Farm Road, East 8th Street, and East Alessi Road; *Patching: Pine Street, Stateline Road, West Cutrer Road, Cutrer Lane, Straughan Nursery Road, Nuccio Road, Mandella, Catfish Farm Road, East 8th Street, and East Alessi Road; *Paving: Stateline Road (full width), West Cutrer Road and Brock Road; Dressing: South Laurel Street. Miller said two temporary road closures are also planned this week: *On Tuesday, June 6, a portion of Hoover Road between Sisters Road and LA 22 just north of Tiger Creek Lane will be closed from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. The closure is planned to allow Entergy crews an opportunity to make preparations for a bridge expansion project which is planned later this summer. *Also on Tuesday, June 6, Riverdale Heights Road will be closed from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Parish crews will be removing a small bridge and installing a culvert approximately 550 feet northwest of the intersection with East Riverdale Heights Road. No traffic will be allowed to pass through the construction zone while work is proceeding on either roadway.
