What Is TANGIAlert?

This is an emergency notification program that will provide residents with alerts about any hazardous event. Messages will be sent to residents on their preferred contact paths—cell phone (SMS/Text), home phone, email, and more—to ensure real-time access to potentially lifesaving information.

1. Creating Your Account

When you click you will be asked to create an account.

Sign up here in order to receive Important Messages and Emergency Alert Notifications from Tangipahoa Parish! Get alerted about emergencies and other important community news by signing up for our Emergency Alert Program. This system enables us to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods. You will receive time-sensitive messages wherever you specify, such as your home, mobile or business phones, email address, text messages and more. You pick where, you pick how.

2. Completing Your Profile

3. Confirm Your Location if Required

4. Confirm Your Phone Number

These alerts and messages could include NWS severe weather warnings, homeland security notices, hurricane evacuation instructions, Amber Alerts, or school closings. The emergency information is sent out by federal, state, or local government agencies or by companies wishing to distribute information.
