Here is an update concerning the severe weather threat for Wednesday and Thursday.
Changes from previous update: A MARGINAL RISK has been introduced for Thursday
WHAT: MARGINAL RISK of Severe Weather for both Wednesday and Thursday
WHEN: Mainly during the afternoon and evening for Wednesday and in the morning for Thursday
WHERE: Most of S MS and SE LA for Wednesday, and along the I-10/12 corridor east of I-55 on Thursday
CONFIDENCE: We are confident there will be thunderstorms across the area. We have little confidence any of them will become severe.
Impacts: The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:
- Damaging Winds: Wind gusts greater than 60 mph are possible. Winds of this magnitude are capable of causing damage to trees and power lines, leading to isolated/scattered power outages
- Rainfall: In addition to the severe weather threat, rainfall of 0.5 to 2 inches is forecast between both days. There is a low chance of local amounts 4 inches or more.
