Progress continues in the Roseland Incident Response. As of Friday, September 5, we can report:
- No overnight flare ups with fire at the Smitty’s site. No water was sprayed overnight at the site.
- Shearing of tanks continues today.
- Vehicle recovery continues at the Smitty’s site.
- Recovery efforts continue along the Tangipahoa River. Recovery efforts at the large pond continue with collection of material happening 24 hours/day at that site.
- 1,630 barrels of material were collected overnight.
- There has been no change in air monitoring readings. EPA set up a stationary network of air monitors with telemetry, and there were no detections overnight.
- Through this morning, there have been no injuries reported.
