- Recovery operations continued at three of the four ponds Monday night. Pond D-4 and collection point D-1 R2 had no recovery overnight. The work platform at Pond D-4 was inundated from the previous day’s rainfall event, and operations were not possible. Six collection points were used.
- EPA is using multiple skimmers to maximize efficiency in recovery, including felt drum skimmers and rope mop skimmers.
- Due to the large rain event and site flooding on Monday, rainwater from the facility’s drainage ditch along US 51 was pumped into Pond D-2 for stormwater management overnight.
- A total of eight vacuum trucks were operating at the ponds overnight for oily waste recovery.
- Crews recovered more than 70,560 gallons of oily waste water from ponds and facility overnight.
- No change in air monitoring readings.
