- Recovery occurred at six recovery points on Ponds D-1, D-2, and D-3 overnight on Saturday.
- EPA is using multiple skimmers to maximize efficiency in recovery, including felt drum skimmers and rope mop skimmers. There were 21 skimmers operating overnight.
- A total of 11 vacuum trucks operated overnight Saturday at the ponds for oily waste recovery. Total estimated volume of recovery based on 30 truckloads is 75,600 gallons.
- The Facility Branch continued decanting operations to Pond D-4.
- On Sunday, October 12, EPA will hold office hours at the Hammond Air Show and the House on the Rock Church in Amite.
- LDEQ continues to conduct ambient air monitoring with the Mobile Air Monitoring Laboratory near the Ponchatoula Fire Department. There has been no change in air monitoring readings through early Friday.
