PONCHATOULA—Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced today that preliminary work on the Hoover Road widening project will begin next week.

Miller said crews will begin clearing brush and “grubbing” the northeast corner of Hoover Road and Sisters Road starting on Monday, Feb. 21. Work will begin at 8 a.m. daily, as weather permits. Officials estimate this process will take approximately one week, after which crews will begin the process of relocating utilities in that area.

This work is necessary to facilitate plans to widen Hoover Road and develop a roundabout at its intersection with Sisters Road. That project is expected to begin later this year, MIller said.
