We’re Hiring

Civil Engineer

Tangipahoa Parish Government is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Team. The Parish Engineer is responsible for overseeing professional engineering work and administrative tasks and working with consultants on the design, hydrology, investigation, and construction of roads, utilities, groundwater and wastewater treatment systems, and other public works projects. This includes ensuring proper oversight of project activities, assisting in preparing plans and specifications and managing the overall execution of assigned projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

• Certification / License: Must possess and maintain an Engineering License from the state of Louisiana.

• Five years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and MVR.

• Must be able to travel to satellite office locations as needed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Pre-employment drug testing is required, and employees will be subject to unannounced alcohol and drug testing as a condition of continued employment.

• Required pre-employment background check.
