Hon. Lionell Wells

Lionell Wells is now serving his fifth term representing District No. 7 on the Tangipahoa Parish Council. He has

served as Chairman of the Council twice. He is a retired teacher from Hammond High School where he taught for 32 years. During his time at Hammond High, he served as an advisor of the school’s chapter of the Future Farmers of America.

Lionell Wells was born and raised in Hammond. He graduated from Greenville Park High School. He is an agricultural education graduate of Southern University and the University of Missouri at Columbia, with further studies at Louisiana State University.

As the representative for District No. 7, which includes parts of the City of Hammond and areas north and south of the city; he remains fair, open and accessible to the residents of his district and the entire Parish. He will continue to support the educational and economic development of his district and the Parish as a whole making Tangipahoa Parish a great place to work and live.
