- Hard Freeze Warning goes into effect earlier this evening at 6PM CT.
- Wind Chill Advisory goes into effect earlier this evening at 6PM CT.
- Also expanded slightly south to include Assumption, St James and St John Parishes.
Cold Weather Overview:
- Temperatures have dropped rapidly overnight to the teens for NW areas, to 20’s and 30’s areawide.
- Breezy/gusty winds leading to wind chills in the teens to single digits (below zero early for SW MS) this morning.
- Highs today in the 30’s (possibly not making it above freezing for SW MS/far northern Florida Parishes.
- Wind chills in the teens to 20’s all day today.
- Coldest temps will be tonight into early Wednesday.
- Hard freeze conditions likely for most of the area with lows in the teens to mid 20s.
- Winds will remain breezy overnight tonight night with wind chills in the single digits to teens possible across the entire area Wednesday morning.
- One more night of below freezing temps for central/northern areas Wed night/Thursday morning.
- Moderation continues into Thursday and Friday.
