There is a MEDIUM (40%) chance of tropical cyclone development over the next 5 days
A small area of low pressure over the far southwestern Caribbean Sea near the east coast of Nicaragua. The gradual development of this system is possible while it drifts northwestward near the coasts of Nicaragua and Honduras, and it could become a tropical depression late this week if the disturbance remains over water.
Impacts: This system poses no immediate threat and is not expected to bring any significant impacts to the local area, but it should continue to be monitored.
