TPG Road Work: Week of September 30, 2024

HAMMOND—Heading into the first week of October, Tangipahoa Parish road crews will be completing five cross drain projects in the southern part of the parish.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said several culvert projects are being completed this fall in preparation for overlay early next year. The following projects are scheduled for completion this week:

  • Tuesday, October 1: Cross drain work is planned on Sweet Olive Lane at the intersection of Clover Leaf Drive. Work is expected to begin at 8:30 a.m., and should be completed by approximately 2:30 p.m. Crews will also be working on Jasmine Lane, which will be closed at the end of the road for cross drain improvements.
  • Wednesday, October 2: Crews will change a cross drain on Azalea Drive, located off of LA 22 west of Ponchatoula. Work is scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. that day.
  • Thursday, October 3: Oak Hollow Drive will be closed approximately 389 feet east of its intersection with Oak Hollow Drive for cross drain replacement. Holly Drive at the intersection of Oak Hollow Drive will be also be closed, with work scheduled between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on both of those projects.

All work is weather-permitting. No thru-traffic will be permitted during the construction process.

Miller said surface treatment operations will also continue during the week of September 30. Crews are planning to work on Kraft Road, River Crest Drive, Trapen Lane, Lynn Lane, Tracey Lane, Acadiana Place, Pine Meadow Road, and Steptoe Road over the next several days. Miller reminds motorists to use alternate routes, if possible, while surface treatments are being completed.
