Tangipahoa Parish’s 2026 pavement preservation project is nearing completion.
This week, contractors will seal coat North Thibodeaux Road. Motorists should use alternate routes, as intermittent delays can be expected in the work zone.
In addition to pavement preservation work, a series of cross drain projects are planned as part of Tangipahoa’s 2026 road maintenance program.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the following projects are planned during the week of September 21:
- On Tuesday, September 22, Sharpwood Lane will be closed at the intersection of Pine Meadow Road for a cross drain replacement project.
- On Wednesday, September 23, Sibley Road will be closed starting at a point approximately 2195 feet from its intersection with LA 1064 and continuing north around the curve to the bridge. Road work is scheduled between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Also on Wednesday, September 23, Jackie Liuzza Lane will be closed for multiple cross drain replacements.
- On Thursday, September 24, Stafford Road will be closed between LA 442 west of Tickfaw and New Genessee Road for cross drain replacements. Work is scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- On Friday, September 25, East Blackcat Road will be closed between intersection Harrison Milton Lane and LA 1065 for road maintenance. Crews will be replacing cross drains along that route between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
All work is weather-permitting, and no thru-traffic will be allowed while construction is underway on these projects.
