The final week of school is upon us, and Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller says road construction is gearing up for the summer break.
Miller said Barriere Construction has multiple crews scheduled to work in the following areas during the week of May 19:
- Soil cement operations are scheduled for Chappepeela, Chemekette, Gemstone, and Jaelyn;
- Preliminary asphalt patching is scheduled on Pardo, West Black Cat, Mandella, West Martin Luther King, Perry Lane, Frank Lane, Trabona and South Lewiston;
- Asphalt paving will be placed on Calvary, North Billville, East Park, Briarwood, Arbordale, Oak Hollow, and Holly;
- Milling operations will begin on Briarwood, Whiskey Lane, Whitmar, New Genessee, West Black Cat, West MLK, Oak Hollow, Holly, Whiskey Lane, and Trabona;
- Shoulder dressing will continue on Old Covington, Crisp, Gatlin, Lark, Cottonwood, Webb, Amelia, South I-12 Service Road, Shaffer, Calvary, South Pine, East Illinois, and North Billville.
All work is weather permitting, and intermittent delays should be expected. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes, if at all possible.
