The dog days of summer are here and road work is heating up across Tangipahoa Parish going into the first week of August.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the parish’s pavement preservation work and several culvert replacement projects are planned during the week of August 3, including:
- Material Resources Inc. will perform the final step of pavement preservation sealcoating on Friendship Church Road, Virginia Road, Spitale Road, Wares Road, and Hendry Road.
- On Thursday, August 6, Harvey Lavigne Road will be closed near its intersection with Firetower Road for a cross drain replacement project. The roadway will be closed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., and no thru-traffic will be allowed while construction is being completed..
- Also on Thursday, August 6, Briar Patch Cemetery Road will be closed near its intersection with East Bell Road for two cross drain replacements. The roadway will be closed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., and no thru-traffic will be allowed while construction is being completed.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes, if possible, while crews are working. Intermittent delays are possible during construction periods, and all work is weather-permitting.
