PONCHATOULA—The forecast calls for blue skies and that means Tangipahoa Parish road crews will be working in earnest to complete the last of this summer’s overlay projects.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the parish’s Phase 22 overlay contractor plans to pave six roads this week. Work is scheduled on East Merry, Blaire Boulevard, Nicholas Circle, Milan Drive, Naples Drive and Greco Road.
“Paving will begin after 8:30 a.m. on all roads except East Merry Street,” Miller said, adding that the contractor will close each roadway while paving is being completed. No thru-traffic will be allowed with the exception of emergency vehicles during the construction period, Miller said.
Residents in each of these areas have been notified of the road closures.
In addition to the paving work, the contractor will be patching the following streets: Kayla Drive, Penny Drive, Greco Road, Crown Drive, Wadesboro Road, and Coates Road. Milling work is scheduled on Crown Drive, Wadesboro, and Coates.
The RPC Road Rehab project moves to Happywoods, North Baptist and Wardline Roads this week. Paving is planned on each of those roadways.
In addition, the parish’s road crews will be conducting routine maintenance on Wilson Willie Cemetery Road on Thursday, Sept. 29. The roadway, which is located off of Turnpike Road, will be closed from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
