AMITE—All Tangipahoa Parish Government Offices will be closed July 3rd and 4th, for the Independence Day holiday.
Traditionally limited to just the 4th of July, this year’s holiday includes a state-issued proclamation from Governor John Bel Edwards declaring Monday, July 3, as a “legal holiday and a public day of rest in the State of Louisiana.”
As a result, all Tangipahoa Parish Government offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday in observance of the holiday. The Tangipahoa Parish Landfill will also be closed those days; however, it will be open extended hours from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the following Saturday, July 8.
TPG will resume regular business hours on Wednesday, July 5.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said, “We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Independence Day holiday.”
