HAMMOND—Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller and a host of local partners invite local youth to sign up now for the 2025 Youth Fishing Rodeo in Zemurray Park.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., the annual event provides youth between the ages of 5 to 15 with a great opportunity to fish the Zemurray Park lake (located at 400 S. Oak Street in Hammond) with a parent, guardian, or adult caretaker.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our youth to make priceless memories with the grown-ups in their life,” Miller said. “It’s truly one of my favorite events of the year!”

Sponsored by the United Cajun Navy, Tangipahoa Parish Government, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, the City of Hammond, Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries, Save A Youth (SAY), and PJ’s Coffee, this event is free and open to the public. All youth must be accompanied by an adult, and pre-registration is required for children to qualify for prizes.
