Tangipahoa Parish Government, Landfill remain closed Thursday, Sept. 12

AMITE—In the aftermath of Hurricane Francine, Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller says all Tangipahoa Parish Government offices and the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill will be closed on Thursday, September 12.

Miller praised parish employees, who worked through the night addressing damage from the Category 2 storm. Parishwide assessments will begin at dawn as Miller and #TeamTangi survey the parish for impacts from the storm.

Miller said a key component of hurricane recovery is having the ability to clean up from the storm. To that end, the parish plans to reopen the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill as early as Friday.

In an effort to help residents as they clean up their homes and property, Miller said landfill crews have committed to working additional hours on Saturday, September 14. As it stands now, the landfill will be open on Saturday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
