The Tangipahoa Parish Government has been issued an application package for the homeless prevention and assistance of Emergency Solutions Grants Program (ESGP) funds, administered by the Louisiana Housing Corporation.
Funding available under the Emergency Solutions Grants Program is dedicated for homeless prevention and assistance, rapid rehousing for persons that could face homelessness or are homeless, and other eligible costs.
Applicants for grants under the State Program are limited to units of local government which may distribute all or part of their grant amounts to private nonprofit organizations for use in eligible Program activities. Nonprofit organizations interested in developing a project proposal for possible inclusion in a funding application under consideration by the Tangipahoa Parish Government may request a copy of the proposal materials by contacting [email protected] of the Tangipahoa Parish Government at (985) 748-3211. Proposals must be submitted to the Parish in a hard copy as well as electronically in Word prior to 3 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
To qualify for funding participation, a private nonprofit organization as defined by Program regulations must be one which is exempt from taxation under subtitle A of the Internal Revenue Code, has an accounting system and a voluntary board, and practices nondiscrimination in the provision of assistance. Program rules require that ESGP recipients involve, to the maximum extent practicable, homeless individuals and families in ESGP program, and in providing services for occupants of these facilities.
All prospective grant applicants are encouraged to work in a cooperative partnership to apply for and operate this program.
No funding obligations shall be implied based on the information in this solicitation of project proposals. The Tangipahoa Parish Government reserves the right to accept any proposals or reject any and all proposals on such a basis as may be deemed to be in its best interest.
