WHAT: MARGINAL risk of Severe Weather and Excessive Rainfall
WHEN: Mainly from noon today through early evening
WHERE: For the severe risk, along and north of the interstate 10/12 corridor. For the excessive rainfall risk, all areas.
CONFIDENCE & ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Moderate confidence for an isolated severe storm. Most storms should be capable of producing frequent lightning, gusty winds and heavy rainfall for short durations.
Impacts:
The main threats associated with any strong to severe storms will be:
- Strong, damaging wind gusts greater than 60 mph
- Large hail up to 1″ in diameter
- A few isolated tornadoes
- In addition, heavy rainfall with these storms could cause flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas
