WHEN: Late this afternoon (southwest MS) through late this evening (coastal MS and Plaquemines parish).
WHERE: Mainly near and north of a line from Simmesport to Hammond to Slidell, especially portions of Coastal MS.
CONFIDENCE & ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Chance of a few strong/locally severe storms: Low confidence.
- Approximate timing: high confidence.
- Coverage: High confidence of low coverage. Likely fast-moving isolated to scattered showers/storms with no flash flooding risk.
Impacts: Although the potential is very low the main threats associated with any strong to severe storms will be:
- Strong, damaging wind gusts greater than 60 mph.
- Large hail up to 1″ in diameter
- An isolated tornado.
