Here is an update concerning the severe weather threat for Saturday, March 15th:
Changes from previous update:
- The area of greatest threat has expanded to include more of southern MS.
- Confidence is gradually increasing regarding the threat of severe weather on Saturday.
- We are confident there will be thunderstorms in the area. We have lower confidence in the number of strong to severe thunderstorms that develop in the area.
- Confidence is higher for severe weather to occur along and north of the I-10/12 corridor.
- Confidence is higher for locally heavy rainfall of up to 2-3 inches along and north of the I-10/12 corridor.
- Confidence is medium that any severe storm that develops would be capable of all hazards including damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes.
- Confidence is low in the timing of this event, but generally severe weather will be favored anytime between mid morning through the late evening hours on Saturday.
