Here is an update concerning a severe weather threat tomorrow (Tuesday, May 27):
WHAT: SLIGHT RISK of Severe Weather
WHEN: Tuesday during the day
WHERE: Northwest third of the CWA
CONFIDENCE: We are confident that there will be thunderstorms across the area and that a few will be strong to marginally severe. We have less confidence in exactly where and when those strong/severe storms will occur.
Impacts: The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:
- Damaging Winds: Wind gusts up to 40 mph are likely, but an isolated thunderstorm may generate winds greater than 60 mph. Winds of this magnitude are capable of causing damage to trees and power lines, leading to isolated/scattered power outages
- Hail: Hail of up to 1 inch in diameter is most likely, but an isolated thunderstorm may generate hail larger than 1 inch.
