Overview:
WHAT: MARGINAL RISK of Severe Weather and MARGINAL RISK of Heavy Rainfall
WHEN: Wednesday and Wednesday night; Thursday and Thursday night for both marginal risk areas
WHERE: For Wednesday – All of SE Louisiana and Coastal MS for the severe and heavy rainfall threat
For Thursday – All of SE Louisiana and Coastal MS for the severe threat and only areas north of I-10 for the heavy rainfall threat
CONFIDENCE: We are confident there will be thunderstorms across the area. We have little confidence any of them will become severe.
Impacts: The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:
Damaging Winds: Wind gusts greater than 60 mph are possible.
Large Hail: Large hail of up to 1 inches in diameter will be possible.
Rainfall: In addition to the severe weather threat, rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is forecast. Runoff will lead to ponding of water in low lying areas and areas of poor drainage.
