- Recovery operations continued at all four ponds Wednesday night. Crews utilized seven collection points. The EPA continues the 24-hour/day operation with 20 vacuum trucks operating overnight at the ponds for oily waste recovery.
- To date, 4,676,000 gallons have been shipped off for disposal.
- The Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique (SCAT) treatment teams operated in River Divisions E and F on Wednesday and treated nine segments on the waterway. These segments now go back into the “to be assessed via SCAT” category.
- The SCAT teams have signed off on 60 segments in the northern section o the river. The sign off is the final step in the SCAT process. This indicates that no additional recovery operations are needed in these segments.
- A sampling plan has been developed for weekly sampling of ditches, ponds, and areas of the river impacted by the Smitty’s fire.
