We are now at the 24-hour mark of active firefighting efforts at Smitty’s Supply Inc. in Roseland. The Louisiana State Police Emergency Services Unit, along with multiple local, state, and federal partners, continue to work tirelessly around the clock to contain the fire and manage debris.
We want to extend our deepest thanks to the firefighters, first responders, and partner agencies who are putting in endless hours to protect the community. We also thank the members of the public who have expressed their gratitude and brought much-appreciated supplies, your support truly lifts the spirits of those on the scene.
Important Reminders for the Public:
- A mandatory evacuation remains in place within a 1-mile radius of the incident location. Please comply so crews can work safely and effectively.
- A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is active within a 3-mile radius to protect both air and ground operations.
- Although there is less visible smoke today, the fire is still burning. This remains an active and complex incident; please do not let your guard down.
