Proclamation of Emergency Waterways Closure: November 10, 2024

WHEREAS, the Parish of Tangipahoa has declared that all Tangipahoa Parish waterways are closed to all recreational traffic effective 1:00pm CST Sunday,10 November 2024 due to high water and the forecast of continued rise in the water levels causing flooding of roads, boat launches and potential damage to structures from unnecessary boating traffic.

NOW,THEREFORE, I, Dawson Primes, Tangipahoa Parish Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, do hereby proclaim emergency closures of all waterways within Tangipahoa Parish to any and all recreational traffic until further notice; and

NOW, THEREFORE, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office as well as Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will be patrolling these areas and issuing fines to all violators.
