LORANGER—This week DOTD is closing a portion of LA 40, approximately 1.1 miles east of LA 443, to replace a failing cross drain.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said LA 40 will be closed between Narretto Road and Kerri Michael Lane starting at 8 a.m., on Tuesday, May 24, and continuing until approximately 4 p.m., on Wednesday, May 25, so crews can change out a cross drain. This is a full closure, and no traffic will be allowed in the area while crews are working on the project, according to DOTD reports.
Miller said detours will be posted while construction is underway.
On the issue of local road projects, Miller said the parish’s overlay contractor has been working six days per week over the last several weeks. He said the contractor is making good progress so far, and the weather has been cooperative for the most part.
