PONCHATOULA—Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced today that the Wadesboro Road bridge area will be closed for approximately three days next week as movie crews work in that area.
Miller said crews will be filming Tuesday, June 14, through Thursday, June 16, on Wadesboro Road between Jones Road and Everett Lane. Traffic in that area will be closed to traffic between the hours of 6 a.m., and 10 p.m., each day, weather permitting.
Miller said crews are in the area filming a movie called “Rebel Ridge.”
Movie crews will be working at several other locations throughout the parish this month. Initial reports indicate they will be working in the area around Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Hammond on Friday, June 17. On that day, West Robinson Street, West Church Street, and West Dakota between Railroad Avenue and Oak Streets will be closed to traffic. Additionally, there may be intermittent traffic delays in the area around NW Railroad Avenue and North Oak between Church Street and Carter Lane. Those closures are expected between the hours of 1-5 p.m.
On Thursday, June 23, crews will be filming between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., on Briar Patch Cemetery and East Bell Roads in the Loranger area. For the next two days, crews will be working on Larock Road near Old US 51 south of Amite. Filming is planned between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. each day.
Miller said road closure signs will be posted, and motorists will be instructed to detour around the closure area. Residents in each of the impacted areas have been notified of the closure, as well.
