DOTD will begin work on a new concrete bridge on North Hoover Road today.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said DOTD will close North Hoover Road on November 27, to replace the old timber bridge with a new concrete bridge. The point of closure is approximately 1.11 miles south of Sisters Road and .37 miles north of LA 22.
The estimated cost of the bridge replacement is $1.84 million. The project is expected to take several months to complete.
Miller encourages motorists to plan alternate routes in advance of this closure.
