PONCHATOULA — A portion of North Hoover Road will be closed for approximately one month starting in early March so crews can expedite work on that road widening project.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced that contractors will close North Hoover Road between Thorn Lane and Wild Oak starting on Monday, March 9, and continuing through Easter Sunday, April 5.
Miller noted that residents in the area will have access through the construction zone; however, thru-traffic will be blocked during the closure period.
“This is a necessary step to expedite work on the North Hoover widening project,” Miller said. “We will have heavy equipment in the area, and that will cause significant lane closures throughout the work day. At this point, it will actually expedite work to close the roadway down so we can address asphalt work in that area.”
Detours will be posted, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes as possible.
