INDEPENDENCE—Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced today that a portion of West Fontana Lane will be closed starting Monday.
Miller said the contractor will close the north end of West Fontana Lane on Monday, May 2, to begin the overlay process on that heavily-traveled street. No truck traffic will be allowed on this street during the construction period, Miller said, adding that East Evans Road will temporarily be open for truck traffic during this estimated two or three-week overlay process, depending on weather conditions.
As crews near the south end of West Fontana, they will adjust the closure to the opposite side of the roadway, Miller said.
