A portion of North Billville Road collapsed this morning, and Tangipahoa Parish officials are closing the roadway so repairs can be made immediately.
Parish President Robby Miller said Tangipahoa Parish Road and Bridge crews are preparing to do an emergency cross drain replacement at a site located near the end of North Billville Road in Pumpkin Center.
Officials say a cross drain collapsed and the road has fallen in, creating the need for an emergency repair.
Crews are on site now and work is underway, Miller said.
