TRACC Receives National Recognition

HAMMOND—The Tangipahoa Reshaping Attitudes for Community Change (TRACC) Coalition has been named this year’s winner of the Major General Arthur T. Dean Chairman’s Award.

Presented by CADCA, this national recognition honors TRACC for excellence in the essential tools used to promote impactful and lasting change in the battle against substance abuse in our community. Formed in 2008 to address alcohol and drug abuse issues, TRACC also tackles ongoing concerns with tobacco and vaping issues impacting the health and welfare of all Tangipahoa residents, including K-12 students.

CADCA is a nationwide nonprofit organization which strives to build drug-free communities.

TRACC will receive the Chairman’s Award later this month at the CADCA’s National Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. TRACC was one of approximately 100 coalitions across the country who qualified for this award.

“We are so proud of the work TRACC does for our community,” Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said. “Receiving the Major General Arthur T. Dean Chairman’s Award is such an honor, and it means so much to not only our team but for everyone who advocates for a better quality of life for our people here in Tangipahoa. This is truly a great moment for TRACC and #TeamTangi.”
