Severe Weather Update: March 22, 2023

The threat of severe weather has increased in far NW areas.

Overview:
WHAT
: SLIGHT RISK and ENHANCED RISK of Severe Weather
WHEN: Late morning into the overnight hours.
WHERE: All of the area, highest threat for northern areas.
CONFIDENCE: We are confident there will be thunderstorms across the area. We have less confidence in the exact timing of storms and severity of them.

Impacts:
The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:

  • Damaging Winds: Wind gusts greater than 58mph will be possible. Trees and power lines could be damaged and lead to isolated/scattered power outages.
  • Large Hail: Large hail up to 1 inch in diameter will be possible.
  • Tornadoes: A few tornadoes will be possible.
