Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services Announces Sarah Head as Director of Development and Public Relations

Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services, Inc. (LUMCFS) has recently named Sarah Head, Director of Development and Public Relations.

Head joins LUMCFS as the organization looks to complete its capital campaign benefiting the Methodist Children’s Home of Southeast Louisiana in Loranger. LUMCFS was forced to close its Methodist Children’s Home in New Orleans after Katrina and purchased 123 acres for the new comprehensive facility to serve abused and neglected children. The new home will replace a temporary North Shore facility and is expected to open this spring.

Head will also oversee efforts to increase awareness of the agency’s mission across the state, particularly in South Louisiana. She returns to Louisiana from Nashville, Tennessee, where she has been building a career in marketing, advertising, and public relations. Most recently, Head worked in brand marketing at BUNTIN, a full-service integrated marketing agency, working across various industries, including nonprofits, hospitality, home renovation, and oil and gas.

Head earned a B.S. degree from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Marketing from Vanderbilt University. She recently graduated from the Young Leaders Council, a dedicated training program for emerging leaders in the nonprofit sector.

LUMCFS CEO Rick Wheat said, “We are thrilled to have an individual of Sarah’s caliber join us! All of us at Methodist are engaged in the exciting work of building upon our organization’s sound foundation as we launch into our next 120 years of ministry to Louisiana’s children, families, and communities. Sarah brings to this important endeavor her energy, experience, and skill. I am eager to support Sarah as she builds the collaborations necessary to make all of Louisiana a better place for children and families.”
