- EPA continues on-the-ground outreach in Tangipahoa Parish, with updated times and locations for community office hours supporting residents affected by the Smitty’s Supply fire. On Wednesday, Oct. 15, they will be at the Dollar General store in Roseland from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more updates please follow: https://www.epa.gov/smittys-supply-fire
- Recovery continued at points on Ponds D-1, D-2, D-3 overnight.
- EPA is using multiple skimmers to maximize efficiency in recovery, including felt drum skimmers and rope mop skimmers. There were 23 skimmers operating overnight.
- A total of 13 vacuum trucks operated overnight at the ponds recovering oily waste. Total estimated volume of recovery based on 34 truckloads is 85,680 gallons.
- The Facility Branch conducted decon operations of frac tanks for demobilization. Approximately nine frac tanks were decontaminated overnight.
