Easley Road Bridge Replacement Begins March 9, 2026

LORANGER — The long-sought Easley Road bridge replacement project will begin in early March.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will close Easley Road at a site just east of its intersection with North Cooper Road starting on Monday, March 9, to replace the existing bridge.

This is the first of several bridge projects planned for rural roads in Tangipahoa Parish. The project will be completed using funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). These federal funds are administered through DOTD with the parish contributing additional local funds to support the project.

“While it will create an inconvenience for residents in the Easley Road and North Cooper Road area over the next several months, the community will truly benefit from a new, modern and safety-enhanced bridge for this high-traffic area in Loranger,” Miller said.

The $1.2 million project is expected to take approximately six months to complete, weather permitting.

Detours have been posted.
