Short Term Hazardous Weather Update: December 3, 2025

Here is an update concerning the heavy rain threat we are expecting from early tomorrow morning through Sunday afternoon, as well as minor coastal flooding tonight:

Overview:

  • Rain is forecasted starting around midnight tonight and continuing more or less constantly through Sunday afternoon. Total accumulation is expected to be 3-4 inches with locally higher amounts, possibly up to 6 inches
    • Severe weather is NOT expected.
    • Isolated lightning cannot be ruled out tonight to tomorrow night.
    • Heaviest rain will be midnight tonight to midnight Friday
    • Rain will be lighter but still near continuous from midnight Friday through the end of the event Sunday afternoon
  • Along with the rain tonight is a sustained southeast wind and this will drive the possibility of coastal flooding especially on east facing shorelines, especially overlapping with high tide timing tonight

Hazards:

  • Localized flash flooding  through Friday night due to the heavier rains, especially in lower lying areas. (We are under an Marginal Excessive Rainfall Outlook for this time period.)
  • Minor Coastal Flooding is anticipated

Confidence:

  • We have moderate confidence that rains will cause flash flooding in localized, low-lying areas.  Widespread flash flooding is not expected.
  • We have high confidence that coastal flooding resulting in minor impacts will occur.
