- EPA continues on-the-ground outreach in Tangipahoa Parish, with updated times and locations for community office hours supporting residents affected by the Smitty’s Supply fire. On Thursday, October 16, they will be at the Amite Library from 10 a.m. until noon and again from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

- Recovery continued at six points on Ponds D-1, D-2, D-3 overnight.
- EPA is using multiple skimmers to maximize efficiency in recovery, including felt drum skimmers and rope mop skimmers. There were 23 skimmers operating overnight.
- A total of 13 vacuum trucks operated overnight at the ponds recovering oily waste. Total estimated volume of recovery based on 31 truckloads is 78,120 gallons.
- The Facility Branch identified all frac tanks that are designated as Smitty’s. Additionally teams continued to conduct decon operations of frac tanks for demobilization. Approximately six frac tanks were decontaminated overnight.
- No change in air monitoring readings.
