Here is an update concerning the risk for a few areas of flash flooding with storms this afternoon into tonight:
WHAT: MARGINAL to SLIGHT RISK of excessive rainfall
WHEN: Re-development mainly all afternoon thru early parts of tonight.
WHERE: Most of SE LA and portions of southern MS.
CONFIDENCE: Redevelopment this afternoon/evening: Medium/high confidence we’ll see numerous scattered shower/storms redeveloping later today that will likely contain the risk to produce flash flooding.
Impacts: The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:
- Areas of flash flooding caused by slow-moving or training thunderstorms with intense rain rates of 2-4″+ /hour.
- A few locally strong storms could be possible, producing locally gusty winds.
