PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

HAMMOND — The Tangipahoa Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, in partnership with the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) and the Stephenson Disaster Management Institute (SDMI) at LSU, invites residents and stakeholders to attend the fourth public meeting for the 2026 Tangipahoa Parish Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan update.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 10, at 8:30 a.m., at the Tangipahoa Parish Government Complex, located at 15485 W. Club Deluxe Road in Hammond, LA 70403.

During this meeting, LSU-SDMI will present the findings of the hazard identification and risk assessment. The discussion will include a review of the hazards profiled in the plan, supporting data and maps, and an overview of how each hazard affects Tangipahoa Parish. This session will also begin the process of reviewing and refining the goals and objectives that guide the parish’s hazard mitigation strategy. Input from participants will help ensure that the updated plan reflects local priorities, emerging risks, and opportunities to strengthen community resilience.
