NOTICE OF FINDING NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT TANGIPAHOA PARISH -PONCHATOULA SIDEWALK PROJECT

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construction of an accessible sidewalk along North 5th St. in Ponchatoula from Highway 22 on the south end to Elmers Candy company on the north end and including 2 blocks along East Beech St, comprising approximately 2000 linear feet in length, all within existing public right of way.

FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT: Tangipahoa Parish Government has determined that the project will have no significant negative impact on the human environment but will be a benefit to pedestrian safety. Therefore, an Environmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) is not required. Additional project information is contained in the Environmental Review Record (ERR) on file at the Tangipahoa Parish Government offices, located at 206 E. Mulberry St., Amite, LA 70422 and may be examined weekdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Any individual, group, or agency disagreeing with this determination or wishing to comment on the project may submit written comments to Mitch McDaniel at [email protected]. All comments received by 4pm on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025 will be considered by the Parish prior to authorizing submission of a request for approval of FTA funds and public bid of the project. Comments should specify which part of this Notice they are addressing.
