PONCHATOULA — Parish officials are encouraging motorists to avoid two local roadways on Thursday as crews will be in the area doing extensive road work.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said Barriere Construction will begin paving Brown Road, located north of LA 22 in Ponchatoula on Thursday, April 3. Motorists can expect to encounter delays while paving operations are underway and should avoid the route if at all possible, Miller said.
Depending on weather conditions, the overlay project could take several days to complete on this busy stretch of roadway, Miller said.
Barriere will also be working on a portion of Old Covington Highway east of the Airport Road roundabout starting on Thursday. Crews are scheduled to begin soil cement operations at that location, and motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes, if at all possible.
