Gov. Edwards Releases New PSAs Encouraging the Extended Stay at Home Order and How Louisiana Moves Toward Phase One. Gov. John Bel Edwards released two new PSAs encouraging Louisianans to comply with the extended Stay at Home Order to slow the spread of Covid-19 and ultimately meet the White House guidelines for entering Phase One.
“A new day is coming for Louisiana and it will be here before we know it. I have extended the Stay at Home Order until May 15 to give all of us a little more time to slow the spread of the coronavirus so that we can begin to enter Phase One. We’ve made some gains but are not out of the woods, yet. Your safety is my main concern. I want to get our economy going again and have no doubt we will. How soon depends on you,” Gov. Edwards said.

FEMA NBEOC Dailey Lifeline Snapshot Business & Industry Domestic Supply Chain. Maritime shipments from China have nearly doubled in the past two weeks. However, many of these orders were placed over a month ago when freight volumes were peaking, before demand had greatly declined. Many of these orders may end cancelled or unused for a significant amount of time. The largest monthly growth from imports has come out of manufacturing and durable goods orders. Freight transportation will benefit as this is a signal that the industrial side of the economy may be recovering faster than anticipated. Freight transportation relies on industrial production, as many of those goods require multiple legs from various plants to complete. Many retail goods such as clothing and electronics only require one to two moves domestically on a truck prior to final consumption. Most of the retail goods arrive from overseas and are trans loaded into a warehouse or distribution center one time prior to final delivery.
