WHAT: MARGINAL RISK to SLIGHT RISK of Heavy Rain that could lead to flash flooding
WHEN: Friday through Sunday, with the greatest threat being on Saturday
WHERE: All of southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi
CONFIDENCE:
- We are confident that there will be showers and thunderstorms across the area this weekend, and that some will produce heavy rainfall. We are less confident than usual in exactly where and when the greatest threat will be.
- More details will be forthcoming as we get closer to this weekend.
IMPACTS:
- Total rainfall of 3 to 6 inches from Friday through Sunday is currently forecast, with locally higher amounts possible.
- High rainfall rates will quickly lead to runoff with ponding of water in low lying areas and localized flash flooding.
