Heat Update: June 20, 2025

Here is an update concerning the heat threat tonight and tomorrow: 

WHAT: Potentially dangerous heat conditions with heat index values up to 110 degrees expected.           

WHEN: Tonight through 7 p.m., and again Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT

WHERE: For tonight: All of Southeast Louisiana and coastal Mississippi

For tomorrow: Areas of Southeast Louisiana around Lake Pontchartrain and Maurepas and Coastal Mississippi

CONFIDENCE: We are confident hot temperatures and high humidity will occur today and tomorrow and could quickly lead to heat illness if precautions aren’t taken. 

Impacts: Heat index readings are forecast to climb above 108 degrees for multiple hours, and as a result, heat illness can occur quickly.
