LORANGER—This week, Tangipahoa Parish will break ground on a road widening project in Loranger.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced today that work is expected to begin the week of January 13 to widen H. Cologne Road in Loranger.
“We are very excited to announce that work will begin to expand H. Cologne Road near the Loranger Recreation Park,” Miller said, explaining that the expansion will not only help with traffic to and from the park but also enhance safety for residents in the area.
The $574,000 project will include tree clearing and drainage improvements prior to the widening of this narrow roadway. Miller said the contract will allow for some alignment improvements to enhance safety.
Weather-permitting, the contractor expects to compete this project in early summer of this year.
The project is being made possible in part by grant funding acquired through the American Rescue Plan Act.
