Hon. Brigette Delatte Hyde
Mrs. Brigette Delatte Hyde is honored to have the opportunity to serve in her first public office as Councilwomen for District 9, which covers Lee’s Landing, Manchac, parts of Bedico and the east side of Ponchatoula. The east side of District 9 is the fastest growing area in the parish. Brigette serves as Chairwoman of the Council.
As a lifelong resident of Tangipahoa Parish, Mrs. Hyde cares about the many issues facing District 9 as we move forward. She is passionate about protecting the unique natural resources found in her district. Listening to the concerns of the residents of her district with an open mind and always being available is important to her. She and her husband Jesse have one daughter, Irma, who is a Sophomore at Ponchatoula High School.
She is a member of Bedico Baptist Church, where she serves on the Leadership Team and leads a small group bible study each week. Mrs. Hyde draws custom residential house plans and has owned a recycling center in Ponchatoula since 1997. Mrs. Hyde loves to serve and volunteers in many different capacities. She is a former board member of the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival and served as secretary, treasurer and parade chairman over a 7-year span. She was instrumental in reorganizing the Ponchatoula Jaycees chapter in 1998 and she served in many elected executive board positions over the next 5 years. She has served as a 4-H Club leader since 2012 and is presently serving on the advisory council.
Mrs. Hyde is a certified Hunter’s Safety Instructor through LDWF and has served as the Tangipahoa Parish 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinator since 2015. She served at St. Joseph School as a Home & School Association Board member from 2014 -2018, serving as President the last year and was a Spring Fair Committee Member 2013-2019, heading up the Silent Auction 2016-2018. She is currently very involved at Ponchatoula High School with the Soccer boosters club and the FFA Alumni Club. She is also the chairman of the 2020 Project Graduation.
Mrs. Hyde is a member of the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce.
